What is the Toyota Aygo X Prologue concept?
The Aygo Prologue X, billed as a replacement for the Aygo, could go into production next year. Despite the higher ride height, 19-inch wheels, and heavily flared arches (features that will most likely be toned down for the production car), the influence of the existing Aygo is evident in its upright rear light clusters, glass boot lid, two-tone paint scheme, and wheels pushed right out to the corners.
Off-road-inspired design indicators include front and rear skid panels, sumptuous elevated roof rails and distinctive hexagonal fog lights. Unique in its concept is also the “action cameras” mounted on their door mirrors to “face and share unique explorative moments,” while the rear bumpers are fitted with a pop-out bike holder.
The Aygo X remains below the Toyota Yaris in Europe with its GA-B platform: it is 3.700mm long with a wheelbase of 2.430mm. It is about the same height as its twin, however, at 1500 mm high. The real Aygo measures 3,465mm in length, 1,460mm in length, and has a 2,340mm wheelbase.
Toyota Aygo X Prolog: Options of engine and motor
Toyota has previously confirmed the exclusive use of internal combustion engines for the Aygo X manufacturing version. However, the European-spec Yaris’ 1.0-liter entry-level 3-cylinder petrol engine remains unconfirmed, and either a 5-speed handbook or CVT automatic engine is likely to be available for the AYGO X.
