The fourth-generation Skoda Octavia launched in India at a starter price of Rs 25.99 lakh, amongst the most awaited launches in 2021 (ex-showroom, India). Exterior
The new Skoda Octavia is 4.689mm in length, 1.469mm high, 1.829mm wide, and 2.680mm wheelbases with dimensions. The new Skoda Octavia is now 19mm longer and 15mm wider in comparison with its predecessor. The Fascia is adorned with a robust chrome frame grille and DRL bicolored front lamps. Just as the Superb, a chrome strip in the Center and integrated fog lights on either side of the Octavia get a sharp lower bumper. The car can be used in 5 colors – Lava Blue, Candy White, Magic Black, Brilliant Silver, and Maple Brown. Only Laurin and Klement variants are available in the last two colors.
The Octavia update features sharp shoulder pins for an aggressive position while the 17-inch alloy wheels add to the 17-inch sloping roofline. On the back, the vehicle is provided with sharp LED tail lamps and Skoda signage through the tailgate.
Interior
The new Skoda Octavia is available with chrome highlights premium beige suede leather polishing. Skoda has redesigned the dashboard, which now has an elegant finish. It is equipped with a two-speed multifunction steering wheel that offers a strong identity, paddle and black leather. Passengers may choose from various tones of colours, or customise a colour, called “wood tiles” on a bar, to their liking. The dashboard and the footwell can even be assigned a different colour palette. The new illumination system also helps to ensure security and turns red when the front doors open. The L&K variant gets more than 600 watts of 12 speakers, one subwoofer included.
The car provides a touch-screen 10-inch information system with a slider for volume or map adjustment. With its air conditioner function, Climatronic two-zone climate control system, the front passengers can be fitted with different temperatures. The cargo area is equipped with Velcro to stop the unnecessary movements of the baggage and storage bags. The vehicle has 600 liters of boot space, with folded rear seats that can be extended to 1.5 liters. With just one touch of a button on the remote control, the boot can be opened and closed. The virtual pedal also allows access without contact.
The new Octavia is provided with a gesture-operated LED read light unit, smartphone bags for the front seat rear, front door locks with a parasol, easy cup holders, a pair of USB C ports in the dashboard and center console, a USB C port behind the IRVM, smart cargo components, hooks and baggage net restraints, sun roller blinds, and s. A burner integrated into the windscreen washer tank lid is also featured. The wind turbines now contain water pipes to optimally drain rainwater.

Engine
Mechanically, the new Skoda Octavia comes with a 2.0-liter TSI petrol engine, which combines to produce a 188bhp and 320Nm peak torque with a 7-speed DSG gearbox. The company maintains that the Octavia premium sedan pays 15.81kmpl of fuel efficiency. Skoda offers ‘wire shifting’ technology in Octavia for the first time in India.
