The BMW X5 xDrive SportX Plus is locally manufactured at the BMW Chennai factory and offered in India as a fully downgraded (CKD) vehicle.

BMW has expanded its X5 product line-up in India with the introduction of the xDrive30d SportX Plus (Rs 79.50 lakh, ex-showroom) and the xDrive40i Sportx Plus (Rs 79.50 lakh, ex-showroom) (Rs 77.90 lakh, ex-showroom). Both of these new variants are manufactured in India at the BMW facility in Chennai.

The fascia has a typical hexagonal, one-piece grill that incorporates a sculpted cap and small overhangs. In addition, LED headlamps and LED front fog lamps are available, adding to their muscles. Satin-finished metal roof railings emphasize the side profile while LED taillights are provided in 3D wrap around the back of the rail.


The newer versions of SportX Plus feature sporty elements in the shape of a steering wheel for leather, sports seats, and four-zone automatic climate control. The BMW X5 xDrive 30d’s 3.0 litres six-cylinder diesel engine provides 263 bhp and 620 Nm high-drive at 1,500 – 2,500 rpm. In 6.5 seconds the SUV sprints 0-100 kmph. Then, 3.0 liters, six-cylinder BMW X5 x Drive40i torque is 337 bhp and a maximum torque of 1 500-5 200 rpm, with a maximum torque of 450 Nm.
