Last month, the automaker began local assembly of the 2021 Jeep Wrangler off-roader at its Ranjangaon manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. Fiat Chrysler announced an expansion of its local product line-up for the Indian market in January 2021, spending more than $250 million. As part of this move, the forthcoming Wrangler will be the second model of four locally produced products previously announced by the automaker. The Jeep Compass 2021 was the first product to leave the Ranjangaon factory. A three-row Jeep SUV and the next-generation Grand Cherokee will be the other two brands.

In addition to the signature seven-slat grille, the made-in-India Jeep Wrangler will have round Led headlamps, side fender-mounted indication, alloy wheels of about 18-inch, Fog lamps, LED tail lights, spare wheel, and more. The off-roader should also have a removable roof and doors. Within, the latest Jeep Wrangler from 2021 will be equipped with an upgraded dashboard cabin. The Uconnect 4C NAV 8.4-inch touchscreen infotainment device, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, double-field automatic climate control, keyless entrance, the start of the push-button, premium lightweight upholstery, and more, is expected to be accessible.

The vehicle manufacturer is still to confirm the technical specifications of the Wrangler. The 2.0-liter turbocharged petrol engine is anticipated to drive the 2021 Wrangler with a 262 bhp and a peak torque of 400 Nm, thus connecting it to an 8-speed auto function. The off-roader will take on Mercedes-Benz G 350d and Land Rover Defender, as they are when they are introduced.

The new Jeep Wrangler will be sold in the country as a semi-knocked down (SKD) unit rather than a fully installed unit (CBU), as it was originally launched in 2019. The off-roader would be almost similar to the CBU model, but it will be subject to lower taxes, which will be passed on to consumers. The CBU version of the Wrangler is currently priced at 63.94 lakh (ex-showroom, India), and we expect this to drop significantly “as read and reported by www.carandbike.com”.
