Volkswagen will disclose the Taigun SUV prices tomorrow. The Indian carmaker’s mid-size SUV competes with Koreans and their DNA sibling, Skoda Kushaq. The reservations for the Volkswagen Taigun SUV began last week and deliveries will probably start soon after the price disclosure.

Volkswagen India confirmed last month that on 23 September, i.e. tomorrow, the Taigun SUV will be launched. This next SUV will be based in India on a platform similar to that of Skoda Kushaq, i.e. MQB A0 IN, while VW aims to achieve better sales than Kushaq SUV. In any case, in just a moment we will get into it all. First, let us walk through the fundamentals. Of courses like Hyundai Creta, Kía Seltos, Tata Harrier, MG Héctor, Nissan Kicks, etc, in addition to Kushaq, the coming VW SUV in India will be moved into the compact SUV segment.

  • Powered by two petrol powertrains
  • The price is expected between Rs 10.50 lakh and Rs 16 lakh.

The taigun has a shape that is mellowed outside. The front of the grille with horizontal chrome linings and shunky LED headlamps and integrated LED DRLs is dominated. However, the highlight is the lights of the LED tail contained in a tinted case. The SUV is driven on 17-inch wheels in swirl form, which are covered in plastic all over the body.

The Taigun dashboard has several layers and elements inside. The overall feeling, however, is subtle and refined. The 10-inch touchscreen infotainment is housed inside the dashboards, while a new flat-floor steering wheel with mounted controls the eight-inch digital instrument cluster. Additional highlight features include mobile wireless charging, cooled sun roofing, electrically foldable and adjustable ORVMs, a stereo with 6 speakers, an electric sunroof, and room lighting.

The Volkswagen Taigun also achieves high levels of safety. Six airbags are provided, including ISOFIX children’s seat anchorages, hill hold control, multi-collage brakes, rear car park camera, and a pneumatic pressure monitoring system.

Volkswagen Taigun shall be provided with the same motor options as the Skoda Kushaq, i.e. two motor options: a 1.0-liter TSI turbo loaded petrol engine and a 1.5-liter Turbofloat TSI petrol motor. The 1.0-liter engine provides a peak torque of 113 and 175 Nm and will be delivered with a manual six-speed gearbox or an automated six-speed transmission. The 1.5-liter engine will generate a maximum torque of 148 bhp and 250 Nm and can choose from a six-speed manual transmission and an automatic DSG transmission.

We look forward to Volkswagen offering Taigun for Rs 10.50 lakh starting price (ex-showroom). It will enable the Taigun to compete aggressively against the competition, including the MG Astor, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta, Skoda Kushaq “as read and reported by www.carwale.com”.
