Hyundai i20 N Line unveiled

Hyundai i20 N Line unveiled sporty i20 N Line as the first model under its performance-focused ‘N’ name in India. Furthermore, it will be on sale on September 2, 2021, with reservations already open at Hyundai Signature dealerships or through the company’s official website for a nominal fee of Rs 25,000. It will also be sold exclusively through Signature stores, of which there will be 188 in 97 locations. The i20 N Line is the entry point for Hyundai’s ‘N’ model lineup, and it comes with a slew of sporty upgrades over the ordinary model. However, this is more of a BMW M340i than a full-fledged M3.

  • A new 16-inch alloy wheels, a chrome twin-exhaust muffler, a roof spoiler and red light are all added to the outside of the Bolder, the checked flag mesh fronts.
  •  Cabin modifications include a revised 3-spoke steering wheel, checked flags, red ambient and metal pedals.
  • The feature improvements include further information about the instrument cluster and new voice commands. It has the same 120PS 1-litre turbo-petrol engine as the basic i20, as well as iMT and DCT transmission options.
  • The performance improvements include rear disc frequencies, a re-tuned suspension and paddle shifters.
  • The Volkswagen Polo GT TSI will compete.

The front end is more aggressive, with a beefier front bumper and a grille design with a “chequecked flag” symbol in the N Line. The i20 N Line has 16-inch machine alloys with an ‘N’ bag, a small rear-stroke changes with chrome twin-shake muffler, and a side-winged roof spoiler. Red accents on bumpers and lateral skirts offer great contrast.

It will be available in four monochrome body colors: Thunder Blue, Fiery Red, Titan Grey, and Polar White. The first two body colors are also available with a dual-tone black roof.

There is a three-speed steering wheel inside with paddle shifters, flagged leather stands, Red ambient illumination, metal pedals, and red embellishments. The N-line steering wheel, seats, and gear knob also stand out from the conventional model.

The features include all bells and whistles with the same 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system (with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay) and the standard instrument cluster. But the instrument cluster offers more information such as turn-by-turn navigation, distance warning, and a pneumatic pressure monitoring system.

New voice commands, including an e-sunroof, driver-side window monitoring, living football results, browsing, and contact details, will also be supplied. Other outstanding features include wireless charging, an intelligent start to the button, rear CA winds, a cooled glovebox, an audio system Bose 7 speaker, and puddle lights ‘welcome.’

Six airbags, ESC, hill assist, video rear car park sensors, automatic front lights, and pneumatic pressure monitoring are included in the safety equipment.

It maintains a 1-liter turbo-petrol engine of 120PS/172Nm of the i20 series and is suitable for use as an iMT or a DCT transmission. This means Hyundai has added additional brakes to the back of the i20 N Line and has a stronger suspension system. If you are moody and enjoy some fun, Paddle shifters in the DCT type will let you make things yourself. Fuel efficiency of 20,25 km/h (DCT) and 20 km/h (iMT) is equal to the normal model.

Although Hyundai has not disclosed any model information, an RTO document suggests that the transmission is available in the N6 and N8 variants, with the iMT (clutchless Handbook) for both. On the other side, the DCT gearbox is restricted to the N8. They are probably based on the standard Sportz, Asta, and Asta (O).

Expect the Hyundai i20 N Line for a premium over the high-quality baseline of Rs 11.40 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). In addition, Hyundai offers up to 31 sports hatchback accessories. It will compete in the Indian market with the Volkswagen Polo GT TSI “as read and reported by www.zigwheels.com”.
