Maruti Suzuki is one of the few carmakers with a variety of CNG SUV-powered vehicles in its lineup. This year, the business intends to expand its CNG lineup by introducing even more vehicles. While the majority of them will be hatchbacks, such as the new Celerio CNG anticipated this month, Maruti Suzuki has confirmed that a CNG-powered version of its new Brezza will be unveiled in April.

  • The 1.5-litre K15B engine is slated to power the Maruti Brezza CNG.
  • From the start, the facelifted model might be available with CNG.
  • The outputs of power and torque may be slightly lower than the petrol model.

What to anticipate from the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza CNG?

Maruti Suzuki India’s chief technology officer, CV Raman, has previously stated that the business will offer “a CNG alternative for every model going forward.” Raman had pointed out that In light of the present record-high fuel costs, “CNG offers the lowest cost proposition in terms of the total cost of ownership.”

In 2022, the Vitara Brezza will receive a significant facelift, including the addition of a CNG-powered version. The “Vitara” name will be dropped as part of this facelift, and the new compact SUV will simply be known as the “Maruti Suzuki Brezza.” Unlike other Maruti Suzuki models, which see the CNG version arrive after the conventional car, the Brezza CNG could arrive at the same time as the facelifted petrol version.

The 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine, which generates 105hp and 138Nm of peak torque, will continue to power the revised Brezza. The CNG-spec Vitara Brezza is believed to have the same engine, albeit power and torque outputs will be slightly lower, as seen in other Maruti Suzuki CNG cars.

The Ertiga CNG, by the way, is powered by the same engine. The Ertiga CNG produces 92hp and 122Nm of peak torque, which is 13hp and 16Nm less than the petrol-powered variant. The Vitara Brezza CNG should see a similar decline in output figures. Maruti claims a fuel economy of 26.08km/kg for the Ertiga CNG, which means the Brezza CNG might have a similar or even better rating because it will be lighter than the Ertiga.

Maruti Suzuki Brezza CNG: When will it go on sale, and who will it compete with?

Maruti Suzuki will have a CNG version of every Arena car with the launch of the Brezza CNG, followed by CNG-powered versions of the Celerio, Swift, and Dzire. As a result, CNG has only been widely used in tiny cars, and none of the Brezza’s subcompact SUV rivals offer a factory-installed CNG system. The Brezza CNG will have no direct competitors when it goes on sale, though Tata Motors is anticipated to release a Nexon CNG after the Tiago and Tigor CNG, We will have it available for sale later this month “as read and reported by www.autocarindia.com”.
