Mahindra & Mahindra are ready for a decade to modify their four SUVs, Thar, XUV500, Scorpion,- and Bolero. On October 2, 2020, the carmaker announced the launch of Thar’s second generation. The new Mahindra Scorpio, XUV500, and the next-generation Bolero will be introduced in the early coming year. In addition to these four latest versions, some of the electric cars (XUV300 EV and eKUV100) are to be brought in by the company sometime next year.
The latest 2 Liter turbo gasoline and 2.2 L diesel delivers 150bhp fuel, with 320Nm respectively, and 130bhp with 320Nm includes the Mahindra Thar engine setup in 2020. The Thar is now available for the first time using an automatic gearbox for petroleum and diesel engines. A manual 6-speed gearbox is available in the model line-up.
The 2020 Mahindra Thar engine includes a new turbo petrol 2.0L m and Diesel with a capacity of 150bhp with a power rating of 320Nm and 130bhp with a power rating of 320 nm. For the first time, Thar is given an automatic gearbox for both petrol and diesel engines. An all-in-the-line 6-speed manual gearbox is standard.
With the change of generation, the Mahindra XUV500 and Scorpio 2021 have seen substantial changes both internally and externally. Currently, a 2.0Lm turbo petrol engine with manual and automatic gearboxes will be included in both models as well.
Although petrol XUV500 would be sufficiently good enough for 190bhp and 380Nm, the Scorpio petrol delivers over 350Nm of 160bhp. According to news, the XUV500 and Scorpio new generation is being developed on the updated body-on-ladder system (ZEN3 platform), which is underpinned by the latest Thar too.
Speaking of the new Mahindra Bolero Generation, the SUV is likely to rely on a whole new platform that will allow major changes in architecture. The interior is probably more up-to-date than today’s generation. The new model also complies with the latest safety and crash test requirements.
The new Thar is the first to arrive on the market, as stated previously. The SUV on the offroad comes in seven models, which will be priced at Rs 9.75 lakh (former showroom) and distributed over two trimmings (AX & LX) “as reported by indiacarnews.com”.
