by Navyatha Sandiri

Just a month after Mercedes-Benz unveiled the most recent E-class, BMW has unveiled the first batch of information and images for its all-new 5 Series sedan. Similar to what the i7 is for the most recent 7 Series premium car, the new BMW 5 Series (codename: G60) now also offers an all-electric i5 line-up. Aside from the all-electric i5, the most recent BMW 5 Series lineup also has petrol, diesel, and plug-in hybrid engines available, depending on the market.

By offering multiple engine choices, BMW ensures that the new 5 Series appeals to a global audience. Whether customers prioritize sustainability, performance, or a combination of both, the diversified powertrain options allow them to select a 5 Series variant that best suits their individual preferences and requirements.

  • Greater length, width, and height are features of the new 5 Series.
  • more evolutionarily oriented styling

The exterior of the BMW 5 Series G60

As was the case when BMW made changes to give the 7 Series a distinctive front aspect, the aesthetic of the 5 Series G60 is less of a “revolution” and more of an evolution of the previous-generation vehicle. The new 5 Series keeps the same fundamental shape as its predecessor, eschewing the large grille and the odd split headlamp designated of characteristics that easily identify the BMW 5 Series. It has thin taillights, flush-fit door handles resembling those on the 7 Series, sharper-end bumpers with blacked-out accents, and a noticeably more modern design.

With dimensions roughly 85mm longer, 33mm wider, and 35mm higher than the model it replaces, the new 5 Series is bigger overall.

It also has a wheelbase that is 20 mm longer, which might provide a little bit more room for the back legs. The latest car has a 0.23 drag coefficient.

In terms of interior upgrades, the new 5 Series from BMW showcases the brand’s latest twin-screen cockpit, which is also featured in the updated 3 Series, M2, and the latest 7 Series, along with other newer BMW models. This twin-screen setup brings a contemporary and sophisticated look to the cabin. The centerpiece of this cockpit is the advanced iDrive 8.5 system, which was first introduced in the i7 M70. With iDrive 8.5, BMW has integrated cutting-edge technology and intuitive controls to enhance the overall user experience.

The driver’s display in the new 5 Series retains its generous size, measuring 12.3 inches. This high-resolution digital display provides a wealth of information, including vehicle speed, navigation directions, and various customizable widgets. It offers crisp graphics and ensures that crucial information is easily accessible to the driver at all times.

For the infotainment aspect, the new 5 Series boasts a sizable 14.9-inch touchscreen. This touchscreen display serves as the central hub for multimedia functions, navigation, connectivity features, and vehicle settings. Its larger size allows for a more immersive and user-friendly interface, ensuring effortless control over the various entertainment and convenience features.

With this combination of the 12.3-inch driver’s display and the 14.9-inch touchscreen, BMW ensures seamless integration and a cohesive visual experience throughout the interior. The twin-screen setup provides a modern and sophisticated aesthetic while offering intuitive controls and convenient access to a range of features. Whether it’s managing navigation, adjusting audio settings, or staying connected, the new 5 Series delivers an advanced and enjoyable user experience.

Furthermore, the use of the latest iDrive 8.5 system brings additional features and enhancements to the infotainment system. Users can expect improved responsiveness, enhanced voice recognition capabilities, and expanded connectivity options. The iDrive 8.5 system is designed to provide a seamless and intuitive interface, allowing drivers and passengers to effortlessly interact with the vehicle’s technology and access a host of advanced features.

Overall, the new 5 Series embraces the latest advancements in BMW’s interior technology. The twin-screen cockpit, featuring the 12.3-inch driver’s display and the 14.9-inch touchscreen, along with the iDrive 8.5 system, elevates the driving and infotainment experience to new heights. With its modern design, user-friendly interface, and comprehensive features, the interior of the new 5 Series truly reflects BMW’s commitment to innovation and delivering a premium driving experience.—–
